Info on Certificates
Info On "Certificates of Completition" for Attendance at Live Classes

Dear Spiritual Psychic Friends, I just wanted to take a moment to discuss the issue of class certification with those of you who are currently attending our live classes, or have done so in the recent past.

When you have been at class in the past, you may have noticed that when you “check-in” at the door, we record your attendance.  One of the main reasons for this is because each unit, Sunset Church offers “Certificates of Completion” for students who complete at least 3 out of the 5 classes for the unit (students who have “perfect attendance” are given an additional special designation on their certificates).

These certificates recognize your commitment & steadfastness in developing on your spiritual psychic path.  However, they also serve another function.  If you ever decide to apply for ordination as a Spiritualist Minister through Sunset, the credits you receive by attending these classes *do* count towards fulfilling the requirements necessary to become a minister.

Of course, I know that most of you are not necessarily thinking that you would like to be a Spiritualist minister right now.  However, you never know what the future may hold, and should that calling arise within you at a later date, it will be helpful to have your “Certificates of Completion” documenting your “semesters” of study in our classes.

So……if you want to receive your certificate for this unit, make sure that your name is either checked-off on the list when you go through the check-in line for each class, or if for some reason your name was not on the list, make sure your write it down at the end of the list.  Also, make sure that you attend at least 3 classes in this unit.  And if you wish to have the “Perfect Attendance” designation on your certificate for this unit, then please make sure that you attend all five classes.

 Blessings,Cynthia

P.S.  One more thing you might want to know on this matter….there is a “Make-Up Clause” if you are just one class short of “making it” for either the “Basic Certificate of Attendance” or “Perfect Attendance Certificate”.

What this “Make-Up Clause” says is that if you missed one of the classes that you need to receive either of these certificates, then you can “make up” that class by purchasing the class materials for that class (CDs + printed packet) and reviewing them on your own (“scout’s honor” here).

This “Make-up” clause is basically designed for the almost-perfect attenders (4 out of 5) who need just one more class to get the “higher level” certificate, or for those who come in later in the unit and need to make-up at least one more class to get the “Basic” certificate.

If you need to “make-up” a class, please let me know, and I will help you get the materials you need.  The cost for “make-up” materials for a class is $30 for the CD set, and $20 for the packet and/or whatever class materials were presented for that class.  Make-ups for this unit need to be completed no later than the end of May.

One other thing….for those few advanced students who have led developmental circles for class weekend before (Jamie, Miki, Erik, Patti, Debbie and others), I would suggest to you to document the number of circles you have led (during class weekend), their dates, and maybe even the approximate number of sitters in attendance during each circle.

Although the church does not currently have an official “policy” regarding your role as circle leaders, it might be possible that acting as a circle leader could count as additional “credit”, should you wish to pursue ordination at some point in time in the future.
